If you’ve ever taken a handheld photograph at night with a long shutter you’ll recognize the distorting effects of time on light that form the basis of these images. Harvey adds a new twist however, as she meticulously applies paint to canvas, transforming a random mechanical camera process into a deliberate organic one.
