There are some very cute and fuzzy creatures doing some very dark and awful things over on Ana Bagayan’s site. Personally, I think cute and fuzzy works best when it’s being dark and awful.

I have met Nahum Flores a few times now, and have always enjoyed his heavily textured and playful works, but he also belongs to an art collective named Z’ots*. They are a group of three artists (Flores, Eric Jerezano, and Ilyana Martinez) and each work they produce is a collaboration. The finished images are amazing, but the process of working with others in such an open and trusting manner is what really impresses me. I would love to try something like that myself, but I don’t think I play that well with others.
Val Nelson

According to her website Val Nelson used to be a dancer. This might help explain the incredible movement and energy in her brushstrokes. A better explanation is that she is an incredible painter.
Cameron Tomsett

Combining traditional painting and digital printing techniques Cameron Tomsett creates great works that have a strong narrative feel. But don’t take my word for it, see for yourself.
Kelly Grace

Kelly Grace creates a great sense of nostalgia in her work, so if you’re feeling nostalgic I recommend you pay her a visit.
Moris Molino
Monday, March 3rd, 2008
There’s very little work on Moris Molino’s site, which could be explained by the giant canvas sizes he works on, but I really like the illustrative style in the paintings that are there. Can’t wait to see more!
Helen Verhoeven

Today just got a whole lot better (and it wasn’t so bad to begin with) because today I found the work of Helen Verhoeven. Going through the archives I just kept finding more and more great work, featuring a multitude of styles and subject matter, all of it incredible. Go there now. I insist.
