The image above is actually a detail of one of Paul Bureau’s paintings, not something I would normally do, but appropriate in this case. Bureau’s paintings are celebrations and explorations of the physicality of paint, and for me, the finished works feel like living things, and viewing them is similar to witnessing the earth open up to reveal a hidden world beneath.
