It only seems appropriate, as the 2008 Beijing Olympics begin today that I spotlight Lui Liu, who was trained as a painter in the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, before moving to Canada where he now lives and paints.
His technique may be classic, but his subject matter is more often a blend of ancient fables and contemporary figures. His portrait work is amazing as well.
