Saturday, June 7th, 2008Michael Brown
Friday, June 6th, 2008I’m really enjoying Michael Brown’s series of paintings entitled “Grind: Getting through the 9 to 5″. He paints his portraits of people on coffee/smoke breaks on found donut wrappers and cigarette packaging. It feels very appropriate.
You can check out his site to see the work, and if you are in the Toronto area he has a show opening June 11th at the Propeller Centre for Visual Arts.
Kathy Staico Schorr
Thursday, June 5th, 2008Kathy Staico Schorr’s paintings are full of fantastical creatures living in a fairy tale world gone wrong. Wrong for them, right for the rest of us. Very fun work.
Michaël Borremans
Wednesday, June 4th, 2008I am highly impressed with Michaël Borremans paintings. His technique is excellent, but it’s the darkness and subtle sense of disquiet permeating each work that really has me hooked.
Glenn Chadwick
Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008Some days work stops me from getting out and enjoying the landscape, but thanks to the joys of the internet, I can still enjoy landscapes from my computer. You can too if you visit Glenn Chadwick’s site.
He also has portraits if work is preventing you from getting out and enjoying other human beings.
Nik Dudukovic
